Recently, a new milestone was reached as four units of offshore wire ropes with diameters of 140mm and 148mm were successfully shipped from Aulone’s Haimen production base. These are among the largest diameter wire ropes ever delivered by Aulone. This achievement follows the June 2024 production of a single compacted strand rope with a weight exceeding 110 tons and a total length of 7,200 meters—a record-setting product in Aulone’s manufacturing history.
This latest batch of offshore ropes features a high-density structure, requiring nearly 100 steel wires to be precisely arranged in each cross-section. The largest individual wire reaches a diameter of 5.6mm, making it the thickest galvanized rope wire Aulone has produced to date. To meet client requirements, all products in this batch were successfully certified by ABS.
The ropes were ordered by a Foreign client, who will be using them to manufacture heavy-duty offshore lifting slings. Given the ropes’ application in marine environments, Aulone employed a specialized anti-corrosion coating process, significantly enhancing resistance to seawater exposure and ensuring long-term performance in offshore operations.
To ensure the highest quality standards, Aulone’s technical center held a series of in-depth discussions to optimize process design, analyze technical challenges, and identify potential production risks. A detailed quality plan was implemented across all key processes, including drawing, galvanizing, and stranding. Process risk advisory notices were issued at each critical step.
Understanding the importance of customer trust, Aulone invited the client to witness on-site tensile testing prior to shipment. The results fully met expectations, and the customer expressed high satisfaction with both the product quality and Aulone’s strict quality management procedures.
